  5. bit is shareware, that means if you like the program and decide to
  6. use it after an evaluation period up to 2 weeks, you are required 
  7. to register your copy for a small fee, which is 35 US$ if you use bit 
  8. for personal purposes. Registration fee for commercial, government, and 
  9. institutional use is 50 US$ per copy per workstation. Site licenses are
  10. available for those who wish to run bit on more than 4 workstations, 
  11. please contact the author for details.

  13. For those who registered in the period when bit was freeware,
  14. the fee is 25 US$ for personal use and 40 US$ for institutional use.
